It’s been an absolute rollercoaster since we re-opened, and with each week as we head towards summer it seems to get busier and busier. As such, we are experiencing a very high number of calls and emails to the pub, and we are unable to get to the phone during parts of the day. We are really sorry if you’ve been struggling to speak with someone or have a query, we know how frustrating it is, but we are a small business working with limited resources in challenging times. We thought it might be helpful to jot down a few of the answers to a lot of the emails and calls we receive so I hope you find this useful!
Booking a Table
This year we have made our Restaurant diary available online for the first time. It’s great as it means you can book your own table by visiting our website http://kingsarmsgeorgeham.co.uk where you can scroll down to the diary icon, select your preferred date & time, and then proceed to booking.
Should you visit the site and find the date crossed out, then that date is likely already full, or we have suspended further bookings as our capacity is currently limited. If another guest cancels a table, then more slots may free up, so check back occasionally. Demand for tables is very high at the moment, and we are filling up very quickly so we suggest booking as early as you can, even for midweek dates. Walk-ins are only accepted when there has been a non-arrival, so these tables are hard to predict, so a booking is advised before driving over here. Please note, throughout July we will be CLOSED All day on Mondays for drinks and food.
Our current restaurant food service times are:
Mondays – CLOSED ALL DAY
Tuesdays 12-2.15pm 6-8.45pm
Wednesdays 12-2.15pm 6-8.45pm
Thursdays 12-2.15pm 6-8.45pm
Fridays 12-2.15pm 6-8.45pm
Saturdays 12-2.15pm 6-8.45pm
Sundays 12-7pm
The Bar is open all day 12-10pm
When you make an online booking you will receive an email confirmation, and a reminder email 48 hours before arrival. If you wish to cancel your table, this can also be done via the booking confirmation email if you cannot reach us by telephone.
Live Music
We love live music, and we hope to see it return one day, but at the moment with case numbers rising, we do not want to encourage large gatherings, as this increases our chances of test & trace alerts, which in turn could potentially mean closure of the entire business. We will review the situation after the summer, but for now, it seems too soon.
Groups
We plan to stick to the rule of 6 for table reservations from 19th July onwards. This means, you will not be able to book a table larger than 6 online. We have decided this as we don’t feel ready to be accepting larger group bookings just yet. Where there are more than 6 we are happy to look at different tables, but as always we cannot guarantee these tables will be close to each other.
